Goldviertel District

Snug between the Institutional and the Griffon districts is the Goldviertel, the Gold District. This section serves as the hub of all commerce in Freiburg, home of its robust Marktplatz and the trade yards, where all cargo brought into Freiburg comes in off the riverboats. The Freiburg Marktplatz is a wild, uncontrolled place, and though the Iron Guard try to keep the peace, hired muscle from every organization control different sections of the district. Criminal organizations make their home all over the Goldviertel, as do mercenaries looking for work down at the Drachen’s Toe Tavern. The largest slum in Freiberg is between the Gold District and Institutional District - and irregardless of the district's name, that slum mostly resides in the Goldviertel. Recent inroads from the Atabean Trading Company to bring merchandise, including slaves, through the Goldviertel has thrown the whole quarter into an uproar, and even the Iron Guard has been having trouble keeping outrage from boiling over.
