Military action

A series of bloody battles between the Zurosian warrior races and the peaceable scientists and adventurers races of the Fenati.

The Zurosian leaders saw the scientific advances of their neighboring Fenati races as an attempt to take control of the planet. The militaristic warrior kings of the major Zurosian city-states led a smear campaign condemning the advances their rivals were making. This went on for decades.

Tensions came to a head when a group of young Zurosian warriors, fueled by the xenophobic propaganda they'd been taught in school attacked a small Fenati village--killing the elderly, and adults who dared fight back, then raping several young girls from the village before killing everyone that was left except those girls and telling the girls that "someone needs to be alive to spread the word of what we've done here. You're the best for the job."

The Fenati retaliated from this attack by demanding the Zurosians hold the young warriors accountable for their actions and execute them as was standard practice to be done to any Zurosian who had raped a child. The Zurosians refused, lauding the young warriors as heroes and declaring war on the Fenati.

The result was an acceleration of "Project Winged Freedom" the Fenati space program. Culminating in the creation of two colony ships, Arneto and Tecali. Which the Fenati used to flee the planet in hopes of preventing the complete genocide of their race.

The Fenati refer to the launch day of the colony ships as the "Day of Survival", while the Zurosians refer to it as either "Day of Victory" or "The Day of Regrets" depending on which side of the "Were our ancestors wrong? Should we try to make amends?" debate the particular Zurosian stands.
