A great elven wizard emerges from the Dales calling himself Elas, The Golden Dragon. Elas was the most powerful adventurer in the realm, and with a Party of long forgotten adventurers known as "The Wards of Light".
As they grew old The Wards of Light founded nations, or died, or retired: Elas himself though couldn’t find a way to stop. He was an adventurer, a righter of wrongs, and he refused to let old age stop him.
Through powerful magic He ascended to become a Golden Dragon in fact, as well as name, and eventually ascended into godhood through his own empowerment.
In the Final Year of the Post-Forrest Era, 1170 PF, it was widely witnessed that a Golden Dragon the size of continents appeared in the sky. The Drake descended towards The Mother's Mouth Volcano, and then burst into golden flame. It is not known what happened that fateful day, but widely it is believed Elas returned to Fortur after long holding court in The Ethereal Realm, and that he blessed Fortur so trees may once more grow.
It is known to The Chantry of Gold that since that day, Elas has offered guidance in different ways. Gone from their ears are the wise council of a wizened sage, and instead are the feint murmurs of destiny. It is said internally, that Elas granted them the gift of self-determination.
The Chantry of Gold is the most directly established, and Clerics of Elas are often the more traditional clerics of healing and luck.

Chantries of The Golden Dragon hold weekly services and feed those who are hungry. They also open their doors to those without homes and run many of The Orphanages and Shelters of The Land.

The Golden Dragon is a Very Organized religion, with Priesthoods of All Genders and Races under a Central Chantry in Corfae which has a High Dragon Cleric who speaks directly with The Golden Dragon to hear Guidance.
