The Numiran Pantheon
The Numiran Pantheon is the most widely worshipped collection of deities in the known world, holding deep influence across nearly every nation, culture, and institution in both Prythwyn and Alterra. The Pantheon is the official religion in nearly every known state with just a few exceptions, such as the Island Republics and Middle Kingdoms. Temples, shrines, and clergy devoted to its gods can be found in cities, towns, and remote outposts alike.
The Pantheon itself consists of eleven major deities, each representing distinct aspects of the world and mortal life: Aeorr, Chktari, Etteus, Farus, Gloria, Iraura, Karmane, Khotaur, Kremera, Ravek, and Vulotl. Most are said to reside upon Mount Numira, the tallest mountain in Prythwyn. The relationships among the gods are often complex, with alliances, rivalries, and philosophical arguments shaping religious doctrine. Worshippers typically revere the entire pantheon but often have a patron god of their choice (and possibly a hatred for their patron's enemy, often another god).
Vulotl holds an elevated position within the Pantheon. Unlike the others, Vulotl is said to exist beyond Mount Numira, watching from the Soul Court. This perceived distance grants him an almost unknowable authority, and many traditions consider Vulotl the god above gods. His worship is often quieter, more philosophical, and associated with scholars, mystics, and those who tend to the dying or the arcane. While all gods of the Pantheon are honored, Vulotl’s presence looms largest in religious doctrine.
