Balduran Looks Out to Sea
On a cliff at the southeast edge of the Tumbledown district stands a statue of Balduran, founder of Baldur's Gate. It is twice as tall as the real person, and looks out over the river to the west. On the first day of the year, the statue shimmers and changes its posture in the blink of an eye. It might point, stand with hands on hips, or look through a spyglass, though always facing in the general direction of west, varying by 30°. It was believed that the statue pointed towards the location of Balduran, who was theorized might still be alive and living somewhere to the west.
