SKT.5.1 The Bargewright Massacre

Session Summary

• After defeating Guh, the party returns to Bargewright Inn to inform Nalaskur of their completed work in Daggerford removing the Snail.
• Upon entering the city, the party observes an eerie silence and lack of activity throughout the city amidst a heavy snowstorm.
• While exploring the city for signs of life or the events that transpired, the party stumbles upon a mass grave of bodies with snow stained red around the pit.
• The party makes their way to the titular Bargewright Inn to discover Nalaskur transformed into a vampire thanks to a bite from Arik. Nalaskur then killed Arik to relieve him of the burden of continuing to go on in his undead existence.
• Nalaskur reveals he then took advantage of the Bargewright Inn community to create his vampire spawn army, for he has greater aspirations than just the Zhentarim now.
• The party battles Nalaskur, but he escapes as mist into the winter storm before they are able to defeat him definitively.




• Following Nalaskur's escape, the party hides in one of the now abandoned homes, only to be swarmed and surrounded by Nalaskur's vampire spawn army.
• As Tristain tried to push back a swarm of spawn coming in through the back door, he took a devastating series of attacks, falling unconscious and ultimately falling to the lethal wounds.
