KWN.Lore Lost Relics of Helm

Excerpts from the updated edition of Relics of the Righteous, as recorded by Thontoros, Sage of the Just Gods

Ring of the Vigilant, Jewelry

A pewter ring in the shape of a shield with an eye inlaid in the crest, the Ring of the Viligant is said to offer the wearer enhanced perceptive capabilities and enhanced reflexes. Handed down as a relic of honor, this decorative magical ring had been passed down by the High Watcher of Helm's Hall for generations. That is, until being reported as stolen several years ago, as of the time of publishing this edition. Given the recent legislation in the City of Splendors, if this relic was truly pilfered, one can only assume it has found its way to Skullport or through one of the many nefarious factions vying for control of the city's black market.

Guardian's Tear, Gem

A massive, flawless gem of translucent azure color said to be created in the moment of Helm's defeat of Mystra. Rumor and legend continue to swirl around the fate of this artifact. Of obvious priceless worth, there are no shortage of treasure hunters who seek the hoard of wealth such a discovery would bring. Chasing the ghost of a more than forty-year-old tip, many have ventured into the jungles of Chult without return. Other hearsay, dating back nearly fifteen years presently, suggests the Guardian's Tear may have once again found its way back to Sword Coast via more successful expeditions undertaken by the Flaming Fist of Baldur's Gate. The magical capabilities of this gem are still unknown. Speculatively speaking, they could range from means of more directly interfacing with the Weave via Mystra's involvement, or significantly enhanced endurance or even commanding divine intervention, given the principle source as Helm's direct power here in the Material Plane. Unfortunately, it seems we must continue to speculate and wonder as no sign of the artifact being made available for scholarly observation appears imminent.

The Watcher's Staff of Restoration, Staff

A simple, wooden staff of white birch with the sigil of Helm carved into the notched top. The staff was most famously carried by Edvon Goldbeard, one of the most celebrated and active members of The Watchers Over the Fallen, who provided healing and peace to those wounded in battles. The staff served as a conduit of the protective capabilities derived from Helm's will, providing Watcher Goldbeard with additional healing powers. During the War of the Black Horde in the early thirteenth century, Edvon courageously continued to provide healing and assistance in the midst of a battle outside the walls of Yartar. When the neutrality of the Watcher's order was not honored by the invading orcs, Edvon and his remaining band of watchers held the line, allowing members of the Lord's Alliance escape with their lives. As such, the staff was lost to time amidst the ensuing slaughter and pillaging somewhere in the Evermoors.
