Chairman/woman of The Council of Waterdeep

Title currently held by Laeral Silverhand.
The chairman/woman is the head of the Council of Waterdeep. They have absolute authority over all political decisions in Waterdeep. The chairman/woman usually delegates most matters of state to other members of the council, but retains the right to overrule any decision made by their fellow councilmembers. The chairman/woman is elected democraticaly by the citizens of Waterdeep and holds office for 5 years before a new election begins. There are no limits to how many terms one chairman/woman may hold their position in a row, nor in a lifetime. Once elected the chairman/woman begins their term by appointing the remaining six councilmembers to their respective offices.

Duties

The duties of the Chairman/woman is to rule according to the will of the citizens of The City of Waterdeep.

Responsibilities

Upon election they must appoint thier fellow councilmembers to their respective positions in the Waterdeep Council.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

The chairman/woman may resign at any point at their discretion. There are no laws in place as for the removal or dismissal of their rank.
