Baldur's Gate

The Gate for which the city is named. Allows passage from the Upper City to the Lower City for commoners. The oldest and least impressive of the city's gates, Baldur's Gate nevertheless remains the city's heart. As the only gate allowing ordinary people through the Old Wall, Baldur's Gate embodies the power imbalance between the rich Upper City patriars and Lower City commoners. Once the sole gate leading to the harbor, its still the primary route by which the city's wealth flows from port to Patriar.
