Tummarble: Rock Roast

Tummarble is a rare and cherished delicacy that originates from the rugged and remote region of the Mother Mountains that cradles the First Forest in Leshiven. The dish is carefully crafted, mined really, from a peculiar type of mineral-rich rocks, unique to the area. Experts believe the rock is only edible because it is sourced near the First Forest, thus why it is considered so invigorating.   These rocks are known for their ability to retain and distribute heat evenly, making them perfect for the slow-roasting process. The culinary art of preparing Tummarble has been passed down through generations among the priests of the First Forest. It requires great skill and knowledge of the rocks' properties to ensure the perfect roast without compromising the flavors or the rock's safety.

You're Telling me to Eat ROCKS?!

Rocks, aside from calcium carbonate and hallite, are not edible because the human body does not process pure minerals. When it is said that the body needs iron, it is the element iron, not the mineral iron that we consume. Thus, no person in their right, left, or center mind should consume rocks. ... Except these rocks.   Tummarble are a unique mixture of the minerals the body needs, as well as a bactirium that softens the rock like clay. Adding a bit of water, it softens to a meaty texture, and is often compared to that of cooked scallops or sausage.

Ingredients and Flavors

To prepare Tummarble, the chefs select tender veins of the rock, sourced locally from mines near the First Forest. It first must be brined to remove any impurities. Then, Tummarble is then carefully marinated with a blend of aromatic herbs - often sage, and mild spices, drawing inspiration from the lush flora aroma of the First Forest.   The marinated rock is then wrapped secured in layers of large, clean bay leaves to protect it during the roasting process. These leaves add a subtle earthy fragrance to the final dish. Next, the rock is placed between specially selected root vegetables or goat meat that have been heated to a precise temperature in a roaring fire.   Slow-Roasting Process: The slow-roasting process is an art in itself. The chefs carefully control the heat and duration of roasting to achieve the perfect tenderness and retain the rock's marinated juices. As the Tummarble rocks gently cook the meat, they impart a unique, mineral-rich flavor, elevating the dish to a level of extraordinary taste.
I can't believe you made me like eating dirt.

Soothing Properties for Stomachache: One of the most remarkable aspects of Tummarble is its reputed ability to soothe stomachaches, reduce heartburn, and aid digestion. The combination of slow-roasting and the minerals from the rocks seems to create a synergy that brings comfort to those who partake in the feast. Just make sure to give yourself plenty of space between your travel company, as it is also known to induce deep, rumbling belches.   The people of Leshiven believe that Tummarble possesses healing properties, and it has become a traditional remedy for stomach ailments. The warmth and nourishment it provides make it an essential comfort food, especially during harsh winters or after a day of hard work in the rugged mountains.
