Iceborn Dark Elves

These Svartalfar (Dark Elves) are specifically born from ice. To create an Iceborn Svartalf, an elf must give some of their life to a piece of ice, be that a snowflake or a glacier, through a magical process called Faeda. Most live in Niflheim.
They are usually taught speak a version of Elvish with many unique words for their unique lives, far different than the warm and comfortable Light Elf in Alfheim. Iceborn Dark Elves live brutal lives, constantly chilled by the endless cold of Niflheim and antagonized by frost giants and other creatures and inhabitants of Niflheim, who wish to eat them and gain their magic and energy.
