Enchanters

How Enchanters are Created and What can they do

The Enchanted are usually people who have experienced a near fatal injury/illness or have a chronic illness (potentially a combo of the two) and magical radiation was able to enter their body due to that weakness. Once the magical radiation enters the body it stays there and acts in a mutualistic, commensalistic, or parasitic way, and it is an endosymbiont meaning that it lives in the body rather than on the outside. No studies have made progress regarding curing a person of magical radiation as it seems the body itself mutates in a way that will continue to produce the radiation on its own from that point on. This allows the person to mentally affect the world around them via the radiation. This type of radiation allows them to affect things in many ways as it uses the energy to change the atoms but does not cause as much destructive force as normal ionized radiation, more details on how this works is in the article Magic. However, these abilities are limited by the human brain to protect itself from overloading on complex information. For most enchanters their brain chooses something related to their bodies weakness that allowed the radiation to enter, though ocasionaly the brain will instead choose a passion that the person has. This is a subconcious decision. On rare occasions a mind can choose to affect multiple areas rather than just one, but it can be mentally and physically exhausting for the enchanter and so they have to be careful.

Drawbacks

Versur

  Although Enchanters gain the ability to use often powerful magic, it usually comes with significant downsides too. The body produces excess magic, and because this is more radiation than the body is able to safely handle it expels it subconciouly. This expelation take the form of the Enchanters magic and often involves the physical weaknes that allowed magic into their body in the first place. This process has been called Versur. This process can affect the enchanter or the people surrounding them in diverse ways. For example a person whos magic ability relates to water might have a versur that turns their excess magic into water around them.

Energy

Although Enchanters are able to perform these magical feats, these abilities cost a lot of metabolic energy, which means Enchanters often mutate to have an increased metabolism and all the goes along with it. As well, if they overuse their abilities it uses up a significant amount of energy akin to over working their body. 

Mental Strain

An enchanters abilities are mostly subconcious, but even so it takes a lot of brainpower to control effectivley, and so with overuse they tend to gain headaches and migrains. The more knowledge an enchanter has on the topic their magic pertains too, the more effecient they are and the less strain on their brain.
