The Railway
Railway is the main family’s favorite sandwich shop. It’s located near the family’s home, but also near a train station located just outside of Central Area, near Wasteland. This is where it gets its name from. The shop offers different sandwiches, but also some other foods like eggs, pancakes and waffles. Many people come here for delicious food, but it’s a particularly popular spot for those traveling through, grabbing a bite to eat before their train leaves.
Ownership
The shop is owned by a local family, who work in the shop together. Some of them work on preparing the food, and others take care of all the business things that need to be done.
The Shop
The shop is actually a repurposed old train station. Back in the day when the central area was much smaller and not the capital it is today, there were less people traveling through here. Only a small building near the train tracks was enough to keep up with people coming and going. As time went on, the city grew and a bigger station was needed. They build a larger station nearby, abandoning this old building completely. It stood here abandoned for years, and over time many business owners came and went; repurposing it as one or the other business, until eventually moving on.
Again some years ago, the building was taken over by new owners, and repurposed as this sandwich shop. The interior is warm and welcoming, with wood paneling and greenery. The tables are separated with lattices overgrown with grabby leaf plants, providing guests with privacy and pleasant greenery.
Menu
The shop keeps several of the most popular sandwich choices as standard menu items, but you are welcome to pick and choose any combination of bread and toppings. They have all kinds of breads and toppings: white, wholegrain, cornbread and more, chocolate or nut spreads and more.
Some of the popular sandwiches are the bread bread sandwich - a slice of dark bread between two slices of white bread, walnut sandwich, with walnuts between two slices of bread, and salty choco sandwich, a sandwich with chocolate spread, mixed with a considerable amount of salt.
Apart from sandwiches, the shop also offers eggs, pancakes and waffles. They will make you any kind of these dishes with the ingredients available.
Of course, you can't eat without having something to drink as well. The Railways offers a variety of fruit juices they make themselves out of fresh fruit, but they also offer coffees and flavored milks.
