Moles and health

Moles don’t really get very sick very often, and when they do, herbal medicine from a Herbal Garden will do just fine. But, though they don’t get too sick often, that doesn’t mean they never do. They are quite a resilient species, but also quite a reckless one, prone to injuries and unexpected ailments, usually brought on by their own doing. When shit happens even fairies in a Herbal Garden won’t be able to help them, and they might need more serious medical help. Lucky for them, they can find this help in a hospital.

History of hospitals

As a species that isn’t very prone to serious illness or injury, moles were actually doing just fine without hospitals for a long time. Faith healers and herbal remedies are able to cure just about anything. But as the time went on, people often thought if there couldn’t be something out there to better help them with injuries and diseases that even fairies didn’t seem to be able to cure.

Many of the more curious moles took time to study mole anatomy and medicine, trying to figure out exactly how their bodies work. They often worked with fairies, and soon started setting up clinics for those who needed more special attention. Often these would take in people over night to keep an eye on them while a herbal medicine they got from fairies took its time to work, some would come because of injuries that need more special attention, and some came to get a more precise and accurate diagnosis on their illness, before fairies would give them the right medication. These clinics turned out to be quite helpful to people as well as fairies who worked with them, and over time they grew into hospitals we know today.

Hospitals today

Though bigger and more organized, hospitals today serve pretty much the same purpose as the clinics in the past did. They’re here for those who might need some extra day of rest, those who got injured, especially if there are broken bones involved, and for those who suffer from mysterious conditions that might not be possible to diagnose and cure on the spot at a Herbal Garden.

Hospitals are the ones who have all of the fancy medical equipment, x-ray machines, labs to test your blood, surgical tools and a sterile environment that a Herbal Garden can’t provide. They have rooms with medical staff always nearby in case your condition unexpectedly turns to worse and to make sure you are getting all the proper rest and treatment that you need.
