Glitter Day

Moles like to celebrate - a lot. Just the fact that they have monthly celebrations of Lanternfest says a lot about what kind of people the mole people are. But there’s still more holidays to celebrate, and one of those is dedicated specifically to Glitter God. This is Glitter Day, celebrated in the first month of the year.

When is it celebrated?

Glitter Day is celebrated between the 15th and 17th day of the first month of the year. The three days give people enough time to enjoy the festive spirit and do all they want to do during these days. These things include meeting up with their friends and family, exchanging gifts, and of course, going to Temples to honor Glitter God.

Why is it celebrated?

The main purpose of this holiday is to honor Glitter God and take time to appreciate everything he’s done for the people. It’s celebrated in the first month for a very special reason too. As people in history spent centuries hidden away underground, so do people today remember those days by staying indoors all throughout the rainy season. In the past, it was thanks to Glitter God that they were able to come out and start their new lives in the new world again, and so today people still take time to thank Glitter God for this, and to celebrate their return to normal life once again each year - all thanks to Glitter God yet again.

This holiday is mainly dedicated to celebrating life and creativity, the gifts given to people by Glitter God. But it’s not only Glitter God’s creativity they celebrate their own creativity as well. After all, they’re the one who rebuilt all of civilization after being let out from the underground.

What are the traditions?

The first two days are dedicated to Glitter God himself. On these days, people go to temples, where they take time to pray and meditate, and also give offerings to Glitter God. During these days they especially thank Glitter God for all of the creative endeavors he helped them with in the last year, and hope for the next year to be the same.

Because this holiday revolves around celebrating creativity and art in particular, people like to take time to visit art galleries, go to concerts, see movies, or engage in some other form of admiring creative and artistic expressions of their fellow mole people.

The third day of celebration is focused all on celebrating together with your family. On this day families come together to socialize and have fun, but also to give gifts to each other. On this holiday, they give each other gifts they made themselves during the rainy season when they were stuck indoors with not much else to do.

By the time this holiday ends, the weather gets warmer and life is completely returned back to normal. Now, people can already start looking forward to the next Lanternfest, which is also the first one of this year.
