Electricity
We live in a modern world where electricity is a necessary part of our life. We have a lot of people living here, relying more and more on electricity to power all kinds of things from people’s personal smartphones to public transport and more. With this in mind, people need to get creative to get enough electricity to run the world. Of course, there are many different ways to do this, and we won’t bore you with the mundane stuff, but here are some of more important and interesting ways people in our world get electricity.
Sun
Solar power is nothing particularly unheard of, but nevertheless, it’s the most popular way to get electricity in our world. This is the primary way to get electricity in atlds, Desert and Fairy Gardens. With plenty of light from the yellow and also orange sun, there’s plenty of energy to go around. You’ll find solar cells on top of pretty much every building around here, and the go-to way to recharge your electronic devices is to just put them out in the sun for a while.
Wind
Again, nothing too revolutionary, this method of getting electricity is popular in flat empty places where there’s a better chance of strong winds, such as Desert or Wastelands. With not much sunlight there, this is more popular in East and West tgohab.
Plants
Maybe you haven’t heard of this one yet, but it is absolutely possible to get electricity from plants. Basically how it works is like this: plants produce organic matter through photosynthesis, but tend to produce more than they actually use. The rest is excreted through roots, where bacteria feed on the organic matter and release electrons. These electrons can then be harvested and used for generation of energy. [1]
This method of energy production is mostly used in Fairy Gardens and parts of atlds, where people more commonly grow plants and flowers. Here, you’ll find whole buildings overgrown with flowers that generate electricity. Because of this, flowers are a very important thing here, and flower day is celebrated every year when after the rainy season all the flowers return in their full bloom.
Lightning
Lightning bolts can actually generate a pretty good amount of electricity - if you know how to harvest it. Luckily, our people were able to figure it out, and can now use lightning as a power source. It’s a bit tricky though and it’s used only in small areas of the world, such as north parts of West and to some extent East tgohab. These parts here are close to Northern Wasteland, the place known for insane weather conditions, including frequent brutal thunderstorms, perfect for harvesting electricity.
