Earth Apple
T@Ö#Å3 isn’t exactly known for agriculture, but even though people her don’t tend to keep farms like people of Ä+*4~ and especially Fairy Gardens do, that doesn’t mean that many useful plants and resources can’t be found here. Of course, many resources need to be sought out in the wilderness, and they aren’t easy to find. But luckily, moles don’t have to do all of it on their own. They have their trusty companions, such as pigs, who are more able to uncover the strange plants hiding out there. One of these are earth apples.
What are they?
Don’t let the name mislead you, earth apples are more similar to potatoes than to apples; they are considered the potato of T@Ö#Å3, or totato as they’re often called among people. They grow underground, much like potatoes, but aren’t as big or delicious as Ä+*4~ potatoes. Who knows, this might be at least partly because they aren’t deliberately farmed like in Ä+*4~, but instead left up on their own to fend for themselves in harsh and barren T@Ö#Å3 ground. Well, not like here you could make much difference even by trying to deliberately farm plants. Maybe that’s why people here don’t bother and just seek out the plants in the wilderness as they find them. But that’s a story for a different article perhaps.
Either way, earth apples are quite valuable here, they are probably the one most nutritious thing that can be found here. They can be made into a variety of foods, anything from regular totato chips, to even bread made of earth apples.
Finding earth apples
Because earth apples are so important to the people here, you can be damn sure they will try hard to find them. Moles alone may have a hard time finding something that only grows underground, but wouldn’t you know it, the pigs seem to like the earth apples as well and are more than able to find them. Pigs are very good at sniffing these out and digging them up, which moles can use to their advantage. It’s because of this why many people here keep pigs as pets and companions. They go out to the wilderness and forests with their pigs often to find a supply of earth apples for themselves and their family, but it’s hard to really find an abundance of these, so they’re rarely exported. If you do see any earth apples or earth apple products sold in Ä+*4~, they will probably cost you a lot of money. But I guess that’s just how T@Ö#Å3 works in general. They don’t have a lot, but what they do have is that much more valuable. For the most part at least, but that’s not really the point here.
