Cult of the Winter Night
Bat people of Wasteland are known mainly for pretending to be- I’m sorry, I mean, for /being/ very real vampires. As such, it’s no surprise they like the darkness and the night. They live in parts of Wasteland where the black sun shines, but most of the time they get some light from the golden sun as well. That is, until the last month of the year when the golden sun disappears completely from the area, and the whole month is basically one long night under the black sun. It should come as no surprise that they have formed a whole cult celebrating the black sun, and the winter night, as it is called.
So what’s the cult about?
Because bat people prefer the night and the darkness, it’s no surprise that they have a special attachment to the winter night. They tend to be more nocturnal and enjoy each night, but this one long month is something special - it’s the biggest event of the year for them. This is the time that for all of the people of the world represents death, which is one of the things bat people are already obsessed about.
While all bat people do prefer the night and love anything that’s related to death, this cult especially focuses on the winter night. It’s the biggest and most important event of the year. After all, the winter night is considered to be Satan’s gift to the bat people.While all bat people do celebrate the Black Sun Festival at the end of the year, the members of this cult already start preparing for it in advance by participating in different daily traditions.
As one should always plan out their death well, they also have to plan out how they will spend their winter night. It only lasts a month, so they have to make the best of it. During the winter night, they continue to perform their daily traditions that ensure they make the most of each day of this long night.
