Cat

As the apocalypse came, much of our world was destroyed, including most animals and plant life. People have done their best to preserve as much as they could in any way they could, and when it comes to animals, this meant creating new species, most of which were hybrids of two or more other species. One such example are catbunnies, a mix of a cat and a bunny. Catbunnies are today considered to be one of the, if not the cutest animal, Glitter God’s favorite and a holy animal. No wonder, as it originated from one of the animals that was already considered the cutest, and also worshiped as a deity in ancient times.

Appearance, Diet and Habitat

Ancient cats looked pretty much like a catbunny, but without all its bunny-like features. They had shorter triangular ears, long legs, sharper claws and long tails. Depending on the breed, they could come in different sizes, colors and levels of fluffiness.

Contrary to today's catbunnies, cats would eat mainly meat and would hunt for their own food. Even when not hunting, cats would like to pretend to murder all sorts of toys - from rubber balls to plush mice.

They were known to be very self-centered and assertive animals. The report says that they pretty much domesticated themselves and would always decide on their own where they want to live and when they want to move in. You wouldn’t adopt a cat, the cat would decide to move in at their own free will.

Cat Worship

As time went on the cats would become more and more pampered. What started out as a wild hunter, became the most worshiped pet of the ancient world. Digital data of the past is one of the hardest to find and decipher, but as far as the research goes, the great majority of digital content shared on the internet of the past included humorous images and videos of cats. From these, we can learn a lot about cat’s personalities and status in society.

As it appears, cats would often be considered the true owners of the household, while the humans were merely their servants. Commonly, the cat would choose their home on their own and move on at their own free will, which is reported in many pictures and videos of a person coming home to a cat they didn’t own, making themself comfortable in their new home.

A cat moving into your home, of course, would be considered a blessing, and from then on you would serve your cat unconditionally. And humans would go to great lengths to serve their furry masters adequatly. They would give them food and treats, buy them toys, silky pillows to sleep on, often even rearranging their homes to make them the most accommodating to their cat buddy’s needs. The ultimate humiliation the humans would have to endure was having to clean out cat toilets, while the cat would watch them from the top of a closet or another high spot in the room.

But the cats would give a lot in return as well. They were worshiped as a deity of the home who would protect the family from evil spirits and disease. One way of keeping the disease away from their humans was surely cuddling up to them and purring. The healing purrs are a trait that is still present in today’s catbunnies.

Having a cat in your home was believed to bless your household with a bounty of food and goods and cats were known to bring their humans different gifts from outside. Commonly, they would bring the mice, birds and other small animals they caught as a blessing and a sign of gratitude. As we know from ancient documents, ancient humans ate meat as well and would surely eat the caught animals brought in by their cats.

While in many ways not quite as benevolent, powerful and intelligent as today’s catbunnies, it’s no surprise that the ancient cats were chosen to be one of the animals to create today's holiest animal.
