Session 29: Resurrection and Redemption

20th of Wintercrest 22nd year of the Second Era
Onboard their new ship Serenity, The Regulators took on a caravan of wagons and their drivers before departing for Palhas City. During the trip, Malcolm talked to Kaylee about staying onboard as their resident healer. She appreciated the offer, but felt that her place was back at the temple. She agreed to at least pray on the matter.
When they arrived at the spire, they found a small crowd gathered nearby. They were listening to a speech by a member of the Temple of the Black Star. The speech confirmed that the new emperor, Valem Ekström had rescinded his sister's ban of the temple, and that the general public had been made aware of her death. Malcolm passed close to the speaker and made an attempt at passive intimidation. The cultist recognized him but only smiled and winked at him.

The party stopped by the Lucky Hawk Inn to send word to Jarl Rupert Wasser that they were ready for the feast. Vyncis Nynsor welcomed them back and offered drinks on the house, as well as a letter that came to the party by name. It was a message from Alaric that he had been to city of Hame while looking for Lilith Smios. He warned them that the city was overrun with undead and would take an army to get through, so he didn't recommend they go there looking for answers about the Cult of Mantus.

Resurrection and Redemption

The party then proceeded to the local temple of Nallula(organization:29c1ccce-1f03-45fe-b939-10c78ccd8603). The high priestess could hardly believe that @[Kaylee succeeded in her quest, but was so overwhelmed by the implications it had for their faith that she forgot about her intention of sending Kaylee on a wild goose chase. The ritual to resurrect Sebastian Braun began shortly after. When he came to, his first words were "did we win?" He thanked them for all the trouble he knew they went through to make his resurrection possible, and informed them that once he recovered he had some important business to attend to and would't be leaving the city for the winter as originally planned, but he wouldn't be able to attend the feast. Malcolm tried to get him to say what that business was , but Kaylee explained that a resurrected soul is often indebted to accomplish a task on the deities behalf.
As Sebastian left he whispered in Kaylee's ear for a long time before proceeding to the recovery room. Kaylee looked shocked and overwhelmed, and seemed to see the Regulators in anw light. The high priestess apologized to Kaylee for her previous behavior and offered her a promition within the temple. Kaylee quickly declined, saying that she felt Nallula was calling her somewhere else, she then informed Malcolm she would like to take the offer to be part of the Serenity crew.
The party made a brief shopping trip for more suitable clothing to take to the feast, and Malcolm purchased new armor, before they all returned to the ship.

Return to Lorimer's Tower

21st of Wintercrest 22nd year of the Second Era
The next morning, they flew to the tower of Lord Ozin Lorimer where they found him working on a set of magical prosthetic legs. When they informed him they were there about whatever it is he said he wanted to show them after The Gauntlet. When he remembered what it is he had wanted to show them, he took them to an indoor archery range where he showed Malcolm a line of ammunition he was inspired to make after seeing his work with a gun. First he showed him basic cartridges that did fire, cold, and lightning damage. What he was really excited about was an enchanted variation he created of each that in addition to the elemental damage, also cast an appropriate spell of the target and nearby enemies.
After gifting several of each to Malcolm, he informed them that they were welcome to stay in the tower until it was time for the feast, and he could then transport them to the Jarl's keep himself. Malcolm sent Thradreg Duskchin to find work for the ship while the party was away.
