2.1 Vex Attack

Overview

The Vex have attacked the Loyalists in the Glade of Echoes, they have since moved to The Cistern.

  In The Cistern, the party will meet Calus' Loyalist Colossus, Field Commander Venichus. He is by himself fighting a group of Vex. When the party steps in, Venichus will take a moment to breathe and will not participate, as he has been brutally injured. He will, however, call out to Judge to inform him that the conflux has locked down the route of pursuit.

  When the Vex have been defeated, Venichus will take a moment to inform the party that his commander, Bahr'Toran, managed to push ahead before the Vex conflux was erected, though with his Psion dead he doesn't have the ability to communicate. If the party suggests he return to Werner, he will say he doesn't understand why he would do that. He will field dress his wounds and follow shortly.

 

Encounter

The Vex presence here should be a Medium-difficulty encounter of appropriate CR. The Vex's primary objective is defense of their conflux, and should act to prevent access to it by any means.

 

Puzzle

The conflux must be unlocked by a puzzle. The puzzle is formatted in such a way that a series of dots must be connected by a single line while only ever crossing lines once. It is represented by the asset "OnePathPuzzle". Engaging with this puzzle during combat is possible, but ill-advised, as a Ghost must be interfacing with the conflux to engage with the puzzle, and the puzzle must be solved in one turn. A mis-input will kick the Ghost out and reset the cipher, which means they need to re-hack to try again. The Ghost should tell the player to clear the area so they can have some time to think.
