Archfey
The Fey Lords and Lady or Archfey are fey beings that gained nearly god-like powers and established preeminence among their realms. They may represent various ideas or concepts or overlap with existing gods but rule within the "otherrealm" a mirror world or plane. This otherworld is sometimes referred to as the Feywilds or the Shadowfell. The Archfey are listed below
Queen Mórrígan was one of three sisters listed in The Song of Three Sisters, as well as the oldest daughter to Cailleach. Mórrígan was the most angered by the choice of her sister, Danu to leave the Feywilds in search of love. This is in part because Mórrígan had never found love and could not understand the choice she had made. Some say Mórrígan's anger is also because she loved someone that could never love her in return. Stories vary, but what is agreed upon is that Mórrígan became a beautiful, violent, queen of winter, a season of cold and death. Through war with a being known as Valravn, Queen Mórrígan became the lady of undeath as well. Though Queen Mórrígan could not betray her mother's doom on those that had left the fey wilds, she knew that Danu would die eventually. Queen Mórrígan claimed her soul upon her death, turning her into an undead creature as part of Mórrígan's domain. Pulled back into the otherrealm, Mórrígan kept Danu imprisoned. As part of her own rage and curse, Danu spread out darkness and shadow wherever she was held. Everything that had once been vibrant and beautiful became empty and devoid of life. This became known as the Shadowfell, a dark territory within the winter realm. Danu's followers within this dark realm became known as Kage Elves or dark fey. Much to the rage of Queen Mórrígan's, Danu was eventually freed yet again by Queen Titania. Titania, in her love for her youngest sister Danu as well as in an understanding of Love, used her power of summer and life to mask Danu from her sister. She was sent back to the mortal realm as a spirit now called Shika, a great horned god that roams the forests of her people. The realm of shadow persists within the realm of winter as Queen Mórrígan hopes to use it as her sister's prison once again, and keeps the remaining dark fey there in isolation. She eventually gained a consort in the name of King Cernunotus.
A consort, and an undead fey lord, risen by Morrigan herself, but of deep intelligence. He was occasionally sent to the prime plane, protected from mortality as an undead, to watch over mortal races. He claimed corporeal dead as his own, raising them and controlling them around what became known as the frozen throne. He created the first revenant, beings of revenge and unfinished business, to continue and live until their duty is completed, just as Queen Mórrígan continues to search for her sister to gain revenge for her abandonment. He created the Hallow Ones, intelligent undead in which the influence and will to serve the winter court fills the void left behind their departed soul. He is also known as The Devouring Wind and Harbinger of the Slua (the undead horde).
Daughter to Queen Mórrígan and King Cernunotus, Leanan is described as a beautiful fey being that appears as a woman to seduce victims before attacking them and draining their blood. She is considered to be one of the first vampire types known as the Baobhan Sith, often taking on the form of a crow but having deer hooves instead of feet. It was her presence that caused many vampiric entities to follow the winter court. Leanan Sidhe is the Lady of Winter.
Born of the material plane, The Prince of frost was a changeling brought to be a consort to Leanan Sidhe. Though they had never solidified this relation, he did take on the mantle of a winter Arch Fey. He is the keeper of the Wolf of Winter Winds and defends the Winter Realm. He heralds her return when seasons change.
Sometimes referred to as the Queen of Light, she is the ruler of the summer court and middle child of Cailleach. She was central in Shika's survival against the rage of their sister Queen Mórrígan. Her realm is of bright summer light and vibrancy that is considered iconic to feywild imagery. She has dedicated herself in part to the protection of her hidden sister Shika, and in part, her people. Part of her love for her sister is her respect for sacrifice in the name of love. Titania and her consort Oberon are deep in love.
Consort of Titania and lord of the great hunt. The Great Hunt is often an associated event that causes mass hysteria, and fear of the undead and leads to a mass cleansing of them from the material plane. Just as Mórrígan and Titania ever fight to create the changing seasons, Oberon and the Night King forever battle to maintain the hordes of undead. Some say without Oberon and his devotion, they would have overrun the prime plane. Thus he is often worshiped and revered among elven paladins and clerics who hunt undead.
Daughter to Titania, she is also known as the Lady of Owls and The Summer Lady. While she serves the Lady of Summer and is heir to the summer court, some say she is actually the daughter of the Queen of Witches, Baba Yaga. She uses owls as her messengers and keeps watch over the effect of the otherrealm on the material plane and keeps them in balance.
Consort to Aurora, The Silver Knight is a fierce warrior. he is dedicated to the chivalry defense of his queen and court. He is the first to battle for the seasons and help maintain the balance. He is also the first to collect the debts of those who break their pacts of the summer court. Some Paladin's of ancients emulate his devotion. His halberd is bright silver and the bane of Lycanthropes. He places a low value on the personal survival of his followers. He suffers grave wounds when he goes into battle, and restoring his strength so that he can aid you always costs something that one does not want to sacrifice.
Also known as the Queen of Witches, she rules over the realm between realms, the magic gifted to mortals from the fey. She's the patron of many arcane individuals who gain their power from the feywilds as well as a patron to some hags. She was the sister of Cailleach (Aunt to Titania and Mórrígan) and is of equal power. She also now moderates the battle of the seasons between her nieces.
Named Amalthea, she is the Unicorn Lady or Lady of Talking Beasts often worshiped as a goddess of intelligent and talking beasts. She was worshiped by many unicorns, pegasi, and other intelligent non-humanoid creatures, as well as by romantic and swashbuckling adventurers
Dressed in hunting leathers with a thick bearskin cloak around his shoulders, the bearded lord sits upon a throne carved from a whole tree trunk. A crown of holly leaves wreathes his head, and a blackened maul rests near his hand. An ornate clay pot filled with honey hangs at his hip at all times. He rules over the non-intelligent beasts of the fey realm and is a master of summoned fey familiars and pets.
This catfish became a lord of the fey by luck. He was a minor fey of trickery and deceit. Known by many names throughout history, the demonic fey travels the waterways of Fetreon, feeding his insatiable appetite with the misery of others. Though he may appear singularly charming and proud, he swaggers through the physical realm like a vagabond in search of unsuspecting prey. His lashing tongue can stun even a heavily armored warrior from a dozen paces, and to fall into his rumbling belly is to tumble into an abyss from which there is little hope of return. He cursed Cerntaurnos, brother of King Cernunotus in a feat of trickery. King Cerntaurnos was a lesser fey lord but held dominion over the fey steeds of all kinds. He was the lord of the calvary and a major influence over the Wild Hunt. He fell in love with The Unicorn Lady and tried to covet her. She frequently turned away his advances until he asked The River Lord his help in wooing the Lady of his dreams. This was before The River Lord's corruption, but he was still a lord of trickery and deceit. He made a deal with Cerntaurnos. He told Cerntaurnos that he would turn him into a horse of The Unicorn Lady's dominion. As she would frequently travel as a unicorn herself, she may be enthralled by his beautiful horse-like form, and be with him. Little did Cerntaurnos know, however, that he would lose his intelligence in this deal. Tricked by his desire, he became a mundane stallion. Through this time he had many children as a great stallion on the planes of the Othersphere. However, each of his offspring was born with the upper body of a human, and the lower body of a horse. It was eventually discovered that these beings being created were the children of the deceived Cerntaurnos, however, his deal had been made and the contract binding. It was this event that led to the banishment of The River Lord. All of the children of Cerntaurnos were cast out of the otherrealm and became known as Centaurs. Additionally, The River Lord was attributed to the creation of therianthropes.
Also called the Prince of Fools, Hyrsam is a fun-loving but dangerous entity. he is the spirit of revelry and humor made flesh. He is both a foolish fabricator of humor and puns but also a savage and harsh entity. Though not an heir to any court, he is the son of King Oberon and finds home in the untamed wilds of the otherrealm. He is full of surprises, brutality, and effortless arcane power while all maintaining an heir that his malice is the greatest of jokes.
Though deceased, she was the mother of Mórrígan, Titania, and Shika and sister to Baba Yaga. She was a powerful witch of magic and weather in the Othersphere She died during a myth known as The Song of Three Sisters and is credited with the "Doom of Cailleach" which is why elves live for so long but are not immortal and eventually gain a sense of ennui.
