The Drunken Dwarf Tavern
The Drunken Dwarf
Dwarves and elves for that matter are rather rare in the world. This particular tavern has a large painting of a dwarven noble or adventurer depending on who tells the story, which hangs on the wall behind the bar. The painting is a dwarf standing with a leg propped up on a wooden keg. He stands proud and his beard is thick and braided. If he is smiling it can’t be seen. His eyes do show a kind of amber luster though that suggests the smile. A large hammer rests by his foot and huge columns fade into the background.
While no actual drunken dwarf is here on any particular night it is with almost fantastic nature that one should show up.
Of note in this establishment adding to its name is a brew of beer that legend has it is the very stuff in the keg in the painting. While not the keg itself it is rather the same kind of spirit. The owner, Mallik MacKrakken says it comes direct from the Firespine dwarves brewmeisters themselves. Simple foods like roasted Spotted Groulet and stews with chunks of dense bread can be had here. Handpies of elk and spiced cheese are delivered twice daily as well. The drinks here are not exceptional but are of good quality. The Firespine whiskey is the most expensive thing sold here and the most popular. It is sold as a shot but is hard to have more than one. It is often a contest of young nobles to try to drink the most. (It is a genuine dwarven drink and only one or two can be consumed without any kind of con check if not a dwarf.)
