Coming of Age Rites

When Orcs come of age it is customary for them to get their first tattoo this is usually either one to reflect their tribe, or themselves.

Funerary and Memorial customs

When an Orc dies their family has a three day ceremony to grieve and pay respects. During this ceremony the body of the deceased is held in a temple, their home, or somewhere special to the deceased for he duration of the ceremony. The first day is for the family and those closest to the deceased to grieve, the second day is opened up to the wider community to pay respects, and the third day is to prepare to say goodbye. After the third day the body is buried and a sapling is planted over the gave both to mark it and to ensure their body becomes one with nature.

Common Taboos

Orcs tend to be skeptical of arcane magic especially when it is not innate. Orcs from small communities find it frightening and so it is best not to practice arcane magic out in the open around them.

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

The beauty ideals of Orcs focus on strength and abundance. Physical strength and sheer size are attractive. Large tusks are favoured. Tattoos and lots of them are appealing as they are a sign of pain tolerance as well as being visually pleasing. Orcs favour hair that is clean but does not interfere with manual tasks, braids and short styles are preferred. Orcs do not tends to have much body hair so its not overly appealing amongst their people.

Gender Ideals

Orcs have three sexes and three genders associated with them, Though many peoples sexes and genders don't always allign. The Orcs noticed they reflected their creators in this way and named them accordingly.

Outside of procreation these genders don't have expected roles, they are considered equal. Orcs will present their gender identity primarily through tattoos, usually having ones reflecting their associated celestial body, because of the distress this has caused transgender orcs who discover themselves later in life many orcs now opt for temporary body paint in their younger years.

Courtship Ideals

Orcs are all about support. They will express their desire by supporting the ones they care about, and courtship often begins with helping your interest with tasks, and easing any burden they may be experiencing. Orcs also take pride in their lovers and like to mark each other with love bites, both simple ones and permanent ones signifying a permanent bond.

Relationship Ideals

The ideal relationship to an orc is two or more partners that can provide for you and sustain a large family. Orcs are of the opinion the more the merrier, so often relationships will involve several people all committed to each other. The more parental figures the easier raising kids is.
Orcs that form relationships outside of their race are the rare few that are okay with only having one partner and fewer children, but many will still have multiple partners and have as many children as they can.
