Jezzebelle Knylle
Self-Proclaimed Gamesmaster
A Soul Alight.
If you were to imagine the blunt scent of dried paint clustered beneath the light breath of camomile tea, you would quickly discover the smell that seems to follow wherever Jezzebelle ambles. In the bright morning light of Swallow’s Grove, Jezzebelle can be caught with her long, messy bun of ripe, pumpkin hair almost dancing as her paintbrush waltzes with its easel. In her eyes, her history can be found; her homeland — the rolling hills of young grass and even younger love — await evermore within her heart. Even so, this woman has faced much tragedy, hopes dashed like petals crushed beneath a stray boot.
Short in stature and full of light, Jezzebelle is no stranger to others, and acts accordingly. Her ebullient personality bubbles up, welcoming all around to come visit, seeking both wares and company. As one can expect, Jezzebelle is quite shambolic. With clustored, dotted paint splotches on her once pure white clothes, Jezzebelle wears a neat apron splattered with all manner of dyes. Within the plethora of color and chaos lies a wild spirit to match. Despite Jezzebelle’s wonderfully kind aura, don’t be lulled into complacency; while Jezzebelle is no fighter, she is a survivor and will continue to survive at all cost.
Origin of the Craft.
Across the country — nay the world! — a new pandemic has spread. No, not one of disease or death, but one of much greater importance. It is a new wave of entertainment; a ingenious, novel game that will revolutionize the entire market. This new creation, invented and expanded exclusively with Jezzebelle’s hands, has been dubbed Arcane Kingdoms. Within it, heroes and villains are pitted against each other in a game of pure number strength. Based upon the epic tales of adventures, Arcane Kingdoms has a dark and twisted past. To understand its history, however, one would have to understand Jezzebelle.
Jezzebelle was born the youngest of three to Martha and Puckerbrush Knylle. A soft and simple child, Jezzebelle was the easiest to raise amongst her chaotic siblings. Preferring to stick to the back and watch, Jezzebelle differed much from her two brothers, Akron and Oke. Akron was loud and courageous, always spouting tall tales and creative lies to craft novel stories of heroes and battles. Oke, on the other hand, was much more crafty, creating ingenious pieces of woodwork and clay sculptures. To survive alongside prodigies such as them, Jezzebelle was forced to adapt. Observing and learning along the way, she scraped by with her own tenacity and wit.
As they continued to grow older, the three siblings grew their talents as well. Akron learned to fight and learned to lie. Oke gained more mediums, picking up new crafting methods. Jezzebelle too grew. Learning from her brothers, Jezzebelle gained performance, she learned tact, and most importantly, she understood the importance of taking chances and following them through to the very end. When they grew of age, Akron and Oke left home, one ready for dangerous battles in far distant lands, the other bound to learn and sell his wondrous creations in foreign grounds.
While the three lived peacefully for many years, tragedy inevitably snuck in. After a terrible encounter with a mind flayer, Akron was rendered mentally afflicted, forced to forever wander in forgotten memories. To attempt to support their brother, Oke and Jezzebelle organized, attempting to meet in Swallow’s Grove to reconvene. Just as Oke was about to reach his destination, his merchant cart was ambushed by a group of gnolls. Oke was unfortunately slain, his goods stolen, and his story lost to time. Stricken with grief, she pressed on for the sake of her surviving brother. Taking on the role of sole caretaker, Jezzebelle attempted to find any connection to the past person Akron once was. Yet despite her labors, nothing seemed to work, nothing except those silly, tall tales he had once shared with her. As these stories were told, new life was spoken into Akron and Jezzebelle’s minds. Before she could seize this concept, though, Akron unfortunately passed away due to long standing, physical complications.
Left alone once more, Jezzebelle searched for a way to honor the memories of her brothers. In doing so, she set to work, utilizing the charm and crafts she had once learned from their hands to craft a new tale, one that would go on forever. Arcane Kingdoms, a game simple enough for any and all to play, and with the power of story behind it, became their legacy. A game of novel creations, ingenious tales, and the tenacity of a woman who must always survive.
