Casino Game: Giants and Halflings

This game, developed by River Lily Guards on the southern border, was used as a simple way to pass the time. With easy to learn mechanics and fun gameplay, Giants and Halflings quickly picked up popularity and spread throughout the River Lily Empire and across the continent. Now, this game can be found in a variety of places; from gambling dens to dinner tables, Giants and Halflings is one of the most popular games of the Empire.

Rules

  1. A gambler places their bet, selecting the amount of money they wish to gamble.
  2. After all bets are placed, the dealer rolls 1d10 called the "Giant". The resulting number rolled then sets a target number called the “Knee”.
    • If the dealer rolls a 1, the Giant "Kicks", and the house wins.
  3. If the Giant doesn’t Kick, each player rolls 2d6 called the "Halflings". These Halflings are trying to match or exceed the Knee.
    • On a result of two ones, a snake scares the Giant, and all bets push.
    • On a result of 11 or 12, called the "Maw," the Halflings are eaten and the house wins.
  4. Players who hit the Knee exactly may “split the dice” by doubling their bet. In doing so, the player may roll one additional die per split, considering each die a separate set of “Halflings”. If a player hits the Knee exactly again, they may choose to split again, becoming truly legendary in the process.
Payout Table:

2-3 house pays 1:1
4-6 house pays 2:1
7-9 house pays 3:1
10 house pays 5:1
