Nuria, the Region that Time Forgot

Nuria, gone? Oh heavens no, child... Nuria isn't gone. They just... ran out of time. Heh heh heh.
— The Storyteller
Once the most technologically advanced region across Fearann Ur, in both mundane and Deus Crystal technology, Nuria has been wiped from the map and replaced with the Scorched Lands. Rumours suggest that Nuria was destroyed by an army that emerged from the Underways, and followed its destruction with a missive to the Athame University and other regions across the continent to remove all mention of Nuria from history, or follow in their demise. Naturally, they agreed. The Third Era started upon recieving this missive, and Nuria was hence forth known as the Scorched Lands.   Those who were there, know the story a little better, however...

Pillars of Everbeing

Nuria has always been experimental in Deus Crystal technology, creating weapons, war machines and much more from the crystals. Their next step in Deus Crystal technology was to solve mortality itself. Rumours fluttered throughout the continent that Nuria had created machines that when built into a person, and replacing their heart with a Deus Crystal, would act as a life support machine and provide psuedo-immortality.   The next step was to enhance their life support machines, creating pylons dotted around the country that would provide immortality to their entire populace. Whether this was a success or not is strictly unknown. The rumour, however, suggested that Nuria had completed these pylons before the destruction of their region. They attempted to activate them prematurely, and the influx of magic was what actually caused the scorching of the land.   Nuria, however, became suspended in time. The Runic Script that was forged to create the immortality spell had caused a rupture in the weaves of time. People are simple not supposed to live forever. To fix the rupture, and restore balance, the rumour suggests that the entire country is now suspended in time as the rest of Fearann Ur moves on without it. Nuria has recieved the immortality they so longed for, though not quite in the way they intended...
