Nellmouth Settlement in Farsight High School | World Anvil

Nellmouth

After this stretch of land was reclaimed from the wild lands, the village was originally built for its commercial and its tactical position. Being relatively close to the kingdom of Greza, it was an excellent place to import and export goods. Meanwhile, it was also a decent enough position to keep an eye on the other kingdom, making sure the relatively young country of Concordia would not be surprised by any military action. It was also close enough to the much larger settlement of Basilford, which was a great buyer of the Grezan goods at the time.
At first glance, modern Nellmouth is a small coastal town, which doesn't really set itself much apart from other coastal villages. Its large beach area and pier make for a great tourist attraction for people with (young) children. On the pier, numerous tents and small attractions are to be found. The visit is not entirely wasted on the parents either, for they can have some fresh lobster at 'The Busty Crustacean', or admire the gorgeous mosaic floor, spanning the entire surface of the city square, which despite its age is in great condition.
College students and other young adults mostly visit Nellmouth on weekends for the great club experience. Specifically, most are trying to get into 'Distortion' (lovingly dubbed 'The Donut' by its members), an exclusive music hall with a large roof terrace looking down on the dancefloor.
For the most wealthy, however, Nellmouth has something entirely different to offer. The village is rumoured to harbour some of the most hedonistic people of Concordia. Either you belong to this group of abundantly rich, in which case, you have probably been invited at least once, or you haven't even been near any of their parties. Nellmouth caters to these enthusiasts by providing with the most exquisite and tender (c.q. overpriced) lobster and scallops restaurants of the country. Naturally, Nellmouth proper also has many boutiques selling designer clothes, and one of the most exclusive auction houses for modern art.
