Session 0.5: The Redouria Chronicles- "Start of Something New"

General Summary

Our first adventure started with Morthos Creed, the tiefling wizard, walking up to the bartender, a young fellow who everyone thought was delicious (except Adrie) and declaring that he was in Freytown for ULTIMATE POWER TO WIPE OUT HIS ENEMIES! After being at a loss for words, the bartender sent him to talk to a courier, Garo Ra who was engaged in a conversation about how important he was. There Morthos met Adrie, the elf ranger; Daldar Windgrog, the dwarven paladin; and Taldrin, the human paladin, who is still deciding on what his last name will be because he tried to do a crossover with another universe at the first session... Damn paladins.   After sitting down, the four adventurers found out from Garo that there have been a number of raids in the Gorren Duchy and just a few days ago, Elyria Gorren's son, Nyx Gorren, was captured in the region. Wanting to know more about the raiders, the group learned that Garo was sure the Vimmin Family is behind the raids. Daldar pushed a little, and it was determined that Garo had zero evidence behind his claim. Taldrin for his part was moved by the knowledge that Nyx had been captured, but despite being a paladin, he was truly concerned about whether there would be a reward if Nyx was rescued... Damn paladins.   Upon hearing that Elyria was offering a reward of fifty gold pieces, the half-elf Repeek Redniff, finally found his voice and interjected in the conversation that for that reward, Nyx was already found. Soon though, a chill ran through everyone at the table, which was reportedly the sign of a raid, and there was a commotion outside. Within seconds, the HAWT bartender had grabbed a sword and ran out the front door, and the group realized that the commotions were actual screams.   Adrie, being ever cautious, peeked through the window to see what looked like a fire. She was unsure though because she couldn't smell any smoke. Repeek and Morthos decided that rather than run towards the screams, they would run out back, because reasons? Taldrin, Daldor, and Adrie, decided to go through the front door. And in Daldar's case, he did it literally. Despite Taldrin reaching to open it... Damn paladins.   Running around the corner, Daldar found himself staring face to face with a bolt flying directly towards him. Rolling out of the way, much to the surprise of everyone, including Daldar, the bolt found the side of the building. The group found themselves engaged with four dwarven raiders.   Before either side could move though, Repeek and Morthos appeared out the back and were able to gruesomely tag-team (yea, I said it, deal with it) the dwarf who tried to shoot Daldar. In the end, the dwarf was dragged away into the woods by some fearsome magic, compliments of Morthos.   The other dwarves for their part, were unfazed and began to move. Adrie, sensing an opportunity took a shot at the other dwarf who was holding a crossbow, injuring him heavily. Repeek moved closer and took out his own bow and looked for an opportunity to take a shot, all while taking a stance that made him look like a tool. One of the dwarves decided he didn't like the look of Taldrin and charged forward at him. Repeek, feeling no remorse, took a shot and nailed Taldrin who was in the way... Damn paladins.   Taldrin seeking revenge against the dwarf attacking him, took out his maul (it's a really really big hammer) and swung it at the dwarf. Unfortunately, it moved so slow, the dwarf took a single step back as the maul completely whiffed. Then Daldar took a swing at the same dwarf. And missed... Damn paladins.   Adrie had her own problems with a dwarf baring down on her. After briefly consider taking a shot at the crossbow dwarf, she rightly considered dealing with the dwarf in front of her was probably a better decision. Taking the dwarf on, Adrie sliced her up quickly but couldn't quite finish her off. Morthos, looking on, used his magic again to claim the life of the dwarf who attacked Adrie, another heinous death under Morthos' belt.   The dwarf who was engaged with Taldrin finally ran out of luck as Taldrin swung his hammer... ehm... maul back over his head and slammed it down on the poor thing... Da...wait, that's not right...yay paladins! Taldrin's maul squished the head of the dwarf just to be noticeable- he was very specific about wanting to get that right.   The last dwarf who had been hanging around on his last leg and seeing his friends crushed by magic and a maul, lost his courage and turned tail. Unfortunately for him, the HAWT bartender was in a rage and lopped off his head with barely a thought- earning a cheer from the party and the promise of a gold coin from Daldar! However, Daldar was unable to give him the coin as the HAWT bartender ran back into the tavern, presumably to continue his work... Strange.
