Lifebloom Potion

The stems of the Bloombriar plants have innumerable curative applications to those knowledgeable in their use. When prepared properly with willow bark, the resulting mixture is known to ease pain and even speed the natural healing of minor wounds. While it began as a simple local remedy, the potion has been introduced to the wider world in recent years. This has allowed apothecaries and herbalists in the region around the Bloombriar forest to ingratiate themselves with a wider community, as well as make them notably more wealthy.

Utility

Lifebloom potions are potent painkillers. Combined with their restorative properties they are used for minor breaks in bones and lacerations to both numb the pain and invigorate the imbibers ability to heal from their wounds.

Numbskin Tonic

Recently, less-reputable alchemists have uncovered a new combination of herbs that further increase the painkilling properties of Lifebloom potions. When ingested these numbskin tonics allow imbibers to ignore even the most grievous injuries. This use is seen by many as a bastardization of the curative lifebloom potions, but has done little to stop the spread of the new tonic on the black market.

Manufacturing

Lifebloom potions are created by grinding down bloombriar stems and mixing it, along with water, with willow bark extract. Once the concoction is properly combined it is boiled over a low heat and a drop of honey is added to mask it's foul taste. Once it has been boiled it is let come to a cooler temperature before being bottled in whatever is avaliable.
Access & Availability
Lifebloom potions are a simple matter to brew, for a moderately competent alchemist. The difficulty of the miraculous potion comes from the scarcity of bloombriar plants as they are only found in Bloombriar forest.
Discovery
Lifebloom potions have been brewed by the people living around the Bloombriar forest for generations. Early shamans and medicine men of the early humans and halfling that lived in the area discovered its use and as time went on it became widespread.
