Reelcana River Flood
In the melting season when winter became spring, a set of major earthquakes and devastation in the northern mountains and major storm systems coincided in just the wrong way for the people of Eikeozoa, causing the Reelcana River to flood to nearly thrice its already-significant width, from 8 kilometers to 22 kilometers.
As flooding of this level had never occurred in remembered history, the groups which kept settlements along the river were taken completely by surprise, and much of the people and architecture were lost as the river tore through the valley. Not all settlements were intended as permanent dwellings, but anything that remained at summer or temporary camp sites was destroyed. Hundreds of people were missing, presumed dead, assumed to have been swept away by the river's wrath. Very few were ever recovered, so many families were bereft and without closure or a way to put their dead to rest. (Almost every legend of hauntings or spirits in the Reelcana River Valley is related to this disaster.)

Reelcana River Valley. The Midlands and Highlands of Eikeozoa were both affected by the natural disaster, as the river is the border between them.
