Tinnaman
Structure
Tinnaman is ruled by a high priest and a group of chosen acolytes. The high priest is elected and theoretically anyone has a change to rise in the ranks to that position, but in practice the position goes to the person with most power and wealth to influence the vote, and usually bounces between few specific noble families.
Public Agenda
Tinnaman state religion believes that the monsters of the sea are a punishment from the gods they worship, that will end only when everyone has been converted to their worship.
History
Originally a much larger kingdom that had its capital on a lush, green island west of modern day Tinnaman. As far as anyone knows, they were the first country that the sea sent its wrath upon at the end of the age of exploration, forcing Tinnamans to abandon much of their most fertile land. Their now ruined green island was renamed to God's Wrath and the once safe Tourmaline Sea to Sea of Dead to reflect this new world they now found themselves in.
Foreign Relations
Country that sees the habits and religious practices, or lack of them, as the sole reason for a disastrous state of the world cannot exactly have warm relations with other countries. Yet Tinnaman is mostly bark with no bite. They're cut off from most of the other kingdoms by a difficult to cross mountain range, mostly causing headache to their southern neighbour Helvo.
