Two Bridges City Settlement in Fallout: New York | World Anvil

Two Bridges City

Two Bridges is a settlement located where Downtown Brooklyn used to be, and it controls the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges, the only bridges still standing in south New York. This strategic location allows Two Bridges to control access to the lower half of the city, making it a powerful and influential player in the region.   The settlement has a diverse population of 750 people, consisting of 600 humans and 150 sentient ghouls. This diversity has contributed to the settlement's vibrancy and cultural richness, and Two Bridges is home to a wide range of art, music, and other cultural expressions. The sentient ghouls in the settlement are integrated into the community and play a role in the settlement's economy and society, although it is not clear exactly how they fit in.   Two Bridges has a focus on trade and commerce, and it has a thriving market where a variety of goods and services are available. The settlement also has skilled craftsmen and artisans who produce and trade high-quality goods, such as weapons, armor, and other equipment. These craftsmen are highly skilled in their chosen trades, having learned their skills through a combination of formal training and practical experience.   The settlement has a number of important institutions and infrastructure, including medical facilities, schools, and other institutions that are essential for the well-being and education of the community. It also has a system of governance and leadership, with a council or other group of leaders who make decisions on behalf of the community.   Two Bridges is well-protected against external threats, with fortified walls or other defensive structures that help to keep out raiders and other dangers. The settlement also has a militia or other security force that helps to defend the community and maintain order.   Overall, the settlement of Two Bridges is a vital part of the post-apocalyptic New York City landscape, with a diverse and influential population, a focus on trade and commerce, and strong protections against external threats.

Had to convince the inhabitants that I was not a raider before being let in. I've done well to survive the land outside and find a place where rest can be possible. Think I'll see if I can visit the bridges, which seem to be the stand out landmarks I spotted a while back. And then I'll see if I can avail myself of any trade or services offered as I try to start my research. Research can be very challenging post-apocalypse. - Nemo, World Traveler
