Gulis

Welcome to Gulis friend, the end of the world to some, and the beginning of everything to others. So, what can I help you with? -Gulis bartender

Demographics

The caravan doesn't deal with many ghouls, but some non-ferals are still welcomed within the walls of Gulis although they are never allowed out of the sight of the guards.

Government

The Crimson Caravan's Keystone Branch claims ownership of the town of Gulis, as such a Foreman is assigned to the outpost who watches over the town and its inhabitants, and most importantly ensures that the caravans that travel through Gulis are prepared for whatever journey they must embark on next. The town of Gulis operates under the guidelines and regulations of the Crimson Caravan Company, and all those not associated with the company must still abide by their rules while within the Gulis region.

Defences

The wall of Gulis is manned by paid mercenaries and automated turrets which dissuade any raiders that may attempt to attack the settlement, in addition to raiders Gulis also has to contest with Super Mutant raids due to its close proximity to the Nova Wasteland.

Infrastructure

The town of Gulis is made out of the ruins of an old pre-war suburban neighborhood, it is walled off by rubble and metal sheet walls that are manned by mercenaries hired by the company to defend the town. Outside of the town the caravan operates several gas stations and rest stops along the I-76 and I-476 these stations operate as waystations for non-caravan affiliate travelers wandering along the interstates. Within the walls of the town are several depots which are used by the company to house and export different supply shipments being moved by the company, these shipments can range from the local delivery or a cross-state shipment, but any bulk shipments are usually handled by the primary shipping yard in Hocken to the north.

Assets

Gulis has three depots within its walls as well as one primary warehouse and two lesser storehouses. The depots are used to store and export short term holds, these being shipments that only need to be held for a few days or weeks. The warehouse and storehouses are for larger and more long-term shipments which can be waiting for a caravan for several months or even years. The main warehouse also keeps the bulk supplies used by the citizens found within Gulis.

History

Located just off of the I-76 the pre-war town of Gulph Mills was a small collection of homes, businesses and gas stations that marked the last stop before entering into the Philadelphia metro area. Gulph Mills was considered by many to be a suburb of Conshohocken. Following the Great War and the development of the Nova Wasteland, the town of Gulph Mills transformed into the small trading settlement of Gulis, an inlet from the larger settlement of Hocken just across the river to the north. Gulis is owned by the Keystone Branch of the Crimson Caravan Company and is one of their refueling stops just before getting onto the I-176 and taking the interstate up to Reading. Gulis also marked the last node of civilization before entering into the Philadelphia Dark Zone.
