The Brew War

"The Brew War, folly and hubris of a Corporation with a military force that thought their massive fleet, soldiers, spies, and kidnappers could take down tree huggers that were spread across the universe for a monopoly on the brews they made. Funny how badly their overwhelming advantage went away due to their lack of friends and the tree huggers having too many. Which is good for New Titan. The Corporations outlived their usefulness ages ago."
  • Vigurus the third Emperor of the Titian Empire
  • The Brew War became official when the Green Mage Society found that members started to be kidnapped on various worlds, space stations, and ships. The Green Mages tried to contact various human factions to get answers and get their members released but were met with silence, condolences, or dodging the subject. The Titian Empire told them that if it was the Corporations there is nothing they can do since they controlled too much and it would require a costly war. In response, the Green Mage Society called all members back to several worlds with the exception of the Planet Seeders that were told to be on alert.   After that, the Corporations declared war on them claiming that were terrorists that attacked and killed a board member of Old Earth Beer Brewers Co. Later it was found that the CEO of the company orchestrated the false flag as an excuse for the war declaration and getting rid of their closets rival. All the other Corporations sent their forces in solidarity with this act of terrorism. The Green Mages didn't have a fleet to fight them so they relied on forcing them to try to invade the planets they were on. The Green Mages held out the best they could with hit-and-run attacks and being able to disappear and travel around via Gaian Gates that they can only use. The cost of the war was devastating for the Corporation's profits. Their attempts to bombard the planets to kill the members of the Green Mages were not working too well. They would send down their armies and find that they didn't succeed in killing nearly as many people as they wanted and the forces they sent down would be ambushed by the Green Mages or even the life on the planets itself. This caused some issues with contract negotiations with the Mercenary groups and the company's personal military due to the extreme hazards they kept running into.   The Torragon Merchant Consortium started to notice that contact with members of the Green Mage Society was becoming very sparse and couldn't get any answers on why. Until that a mining guild came in contact with a Planet Seeder that has been working on a world near an asteroid field they got a contract to mine for Iron and Nickel. The Planet Seeder had refugees from one of the planets that the Corporations started using nuclear bombs and other illegal weaponry that were outlawed by various factions. This grabbed the attention of the Torragon Merchant Consortium and the politics of gathering for war went into motion. This also grab the attention of the Nomorrians and for the first time in centuries, their fleets were seen in mass. The Green Mages didn't want to get others involved and were hoping the Corporations would see reason and end the war effort. But once that word that all the factions that weren't human that they have developed good relations to join together and the war. This turned the war into a slaughter. The Corporations fleet was crushed almost instantly by the collation when they arrived. The death toll was immense. Contact with the various factions the Corporations were connected to were contacted and they threatened all-out war if the CEO and board members were not handed over or executed.   Some were hesitant to do such a thing except Vigurus the third Emperor of the Titian Empire. During the war, the Titian people developed resentment toward the Corporations that tried to abuse their power and influence. The number of blatant crimes like forced recruitment, ignoring labor laws, and Guild union busting gave the Emperor the excuse he wanted for years. Many of the Corporation's heads were arrested and some were executed. When he received the demands and saw that they lost their entire military, he immediately said yes and that if any other faction wishes to harbor the war criminals. He will personally lead his fleets to fight alongside them.   Only one faction denied the request and true to his word, the Emperor got to their sector first and conquered them, and offered half of the systems to the Torragon Merchant Consortium. In the other half, he gave the Green Mage Society the decision on what to do with them as repatriations for not being able to stop the Corporations before this happened.   Thus ending the Brew War and ending mega-corporations from ever forming again within the Titian Empire and various other factions due to seeing it as a taboo. The Torragon Merchant Consortium is still untrusting of the human factions due to the war and it is felt likewise to them since they are seen as the same as the Corporations. But trade did develop between them still since the Green Mage Society did consist of a majority of humans. The Nomorrians went back to isolation but developed a trusting relationship with the Consortium due to their willingness to help the Green Mages (who were venerated by their All-Mother and All-Father) in their time of need.   And once again the brew that the Green Mage Society was able to craft flowed once again throughout the Consortium and other worlds and their innocence involving the assassination was proven and the members were alive and being held were released.
