Lacrima

A lacrima is a common artifact similar in physical composition, appearance, and texture to a crystal ball. They are leftover tools for elemental energy storage from the age of creation and have the unique capability to store an unlimited amount of raw mana or elemental mana inside of it, simply absorbing spells on contact. Countless attempts to reform lacrima into shields, weapons, or armor have been made, but none were successful as they cannot be reshaped without releasing their mana and breaking. If the lacrima is in contact with a person while attempting to absorb mana, it will not function as the individual's mana interrupts. Each lacrima has strange properties, which so far seem to be indescribable and unique.
