Origins
Most of the Gnome iconography and symbolism is based in either mythology or history, with sparse examples of mysticism leaking in through what most assume to be old superstition. As with any such case, there are some who take it very seriously while most outright refute its possibility. The exact details of the symbolism tend to vary somewhat between families, communities, and most drastically by continents. However, this list contains the most common underlying themes which tend to strike true in all instances. In this list's exclusivity to the Gnomes, it does not mean to isolate them as the only kind who usually share sentiments about these things. This is much more important to their culture than for others though, making a basic understanding crucial in Gnomish matters.
