Kithguard Ilgalad was first encountered by The Bound in an encampment outside of the barrier surrounding ruined Myth Drannor. He escaped via magic after nearly beating Katrina Runesong senseless. During the battle he seemed to recognize her and referred to her as "crazy bitch".
Later, in a dream, Katrina recalled that she knew him from her early years of captivity, where she would watch Ilgalad practice his dance-like fighting forms with a rope instead of the spiked chains he carried during their fight. He had called her "crazy bitch" back then as well, and did so in her dream.
