Skyship
Skyships are a type of flying ship built in the land of Halruaa. Originally built millennia ago by Netherese wizards, the secret to their construction has been tightly guarded by Halruaa for centuries. Despite this, these secrets have leaked from time to time, allowing other governments to experiment with constructing their own skyships. Skyships are built from the hulls of regular ships, and enchanted by skilled wizards at great cost in order to fly. They are controlled like a regular ship is, and can safely land and float on water.
Skyships tend to come in two forms - with large sails, like a typical ship; or with a large balloon in place of sails. The sail skyships are far more expensive and difficult to create, but are arguably more prestigious. The balloon-based skyships, sometimes referred to as "airships", are more common, as their lighter-than-air balloons are easier to replicate than the complicated magic of full skyships.
