The Rupert and Alfred
The current commander of Fort Half Peak, gentleman, and officer. He was recently promoted and placed in command of Fort Half Peak due to his brilliance in logistical works. He, along with his steward Alfred, have gained the trust of the troops and have been instituting reforms and new rules to make the base more efficient and less mismanaged.
When he first arrived at Fort Half Peak the members of the Guard stationed there began calling him 'Rupert' a common insult for a new officer who was promoted based on family ties or other less than fair means. It also has the connotations of someone who would send his men on a suicidal charge for his own glory. The Rupert is none of those things, he just looks like it at a first glance.
When he heard his men were calling him that he took the name for himself and insisted they call him by it. Now he is known as The Rupert to differentiate him from the other, more conventual, Ruperts. His men think its an odd but endearing trait of his.
He is not in fact a airy noble bowhead without a scrap of military sense. He is, by his own admission, the most average tactical commander you will ever meet. His true brilliance lies in logistics. Since he was stationed at Half Peak efficiency has almost doubled, the dirt roads have been marked out and straightened, the barracks have been moved into a grid position rather than a spaghetti one, and the egg salad is only to be served to people who deserve it.
His steward, not butler, Alfred manages the day to day and acts as his liaison with the troops. He is a older man with a immaculacy pressed suit and sideburns long enough to connect to his mustache twice over. He is devoted to his master and will defend him from any threat. Some say that he was once a champion gladiator while others say he is a powerful wizard, neither of these have been confirmed or denied by Alfred. In fact he finds these rumors amusing and takes to staring or spreading them himself.
All in all the duo of The Rupert and Alfred is a very competent team of fort managers. Just don't get on their bad side.
