The Field of Triumph
Waterdeep's most popular arena and only arena. Due to certain legislation regarding public bloodshed it is illegal to preform blood sport in Waterdeep. Luckily for the sanguine junkies of the city The Field of Triumph is not legally part of Waterdeep and is its own separate principality under the protectorate of Waterdeep.
The Field is a vast stadium where all sorts of games are held. Monster battles, animal fights, and public executions all take place in the Field. They do usually abide by the spirit of the law and do not hold humanoid vs humanoid fights with those being reserved for special occasions, usually major holidays.
The owner of the arena is referred to as the Lord of Blood as they are technically a lord of the land the arena sits on. When the arena changes hands so does the title making it the only noble title sold on a semi regular basses. Certain privileges are granted to the Lord of Blood this includes a seat on the Lords Alliance under Waterdeep and some tax breaks.
That seat on the Alliance is usually used to represent the economic interests of Waterdeep and has no real weight in the discussion. There is some misconception that the Lord of Blood is a Lord of Waterdeep, they are not they are a lord under Waterdeep.
