Myrkul

The Lord of Bones and death. He is the ruler of the City of the Dead and the reaper of souls. At least that´s what his portfolio says. He lords over death, decay, and old age. He is one of the Dead Three along with Bane and Bhaal.

He does not have may followers as most do not like to think of their own mortality. Those who do worship the quasi-deity do so for two reasons. To delay their own death or to cause another. A common curse is ¨Myrkul take you.¨ Sometimes he does.

Places where humans bury their dead often have at least a small shrine to the Lord of Bones. Temples are rare, but not unheard of. Usually they are vast catacombs where dead for miles around are entombed within Toril. A small shrine at the entrance is all that is given to the living worshipers.

He does not interfere in mortal life save to take the dead. He does occasionally work with the other two of the Dead Three. But this is usually in a silent backer role employing his spirits to aid his allies plots. He is generally the most liked of the Three. But that´s not saying much.
