Bane
One of the Dead Three, the lord of Tyranny. He is a quasi-deity of Justice through revenge, Tyranny, and Might Makes Right. He follows the mentality that if the strong can take from the weak they should. Those with the opportunity to seize power should. The strong rule those without strength.
His followers can be split into two groups: those in power, and those who want power. The tyrant king who exploits his subjects squeezing them dry of riches may follow Bane and promote his cult to keep power. The scheming courtier, the upstart warlord, or the raiding barbarian my follow Bane to justify their actions. Bane cares not why those people follow him just that he follows his tenants.
The tenets of Bane are simple and concise. The strong, if they can, must take power from the weak. This should be accomplished by any means necessary. Bane looks down on subterfuge but if its the only way he is glad to endorse it, his associate Baal may even get in on it. He favors those with ambition and drive, those who stagnate lose his favor.
He does not hold it against his followers from settling down. That either means that his work is done, or that they know their own limits. He does not mind those who know when they are at the apex of their ambition. In fact he loathes the worshiper who is trying to take beyond their abilities for they do not deserve, and are not strong enough, to take that power.
He has what can be described as a work relationship with the other two of the Dead Three. He does not care for what the other two do as long as it does not interfere with his followers. He is on better terms with Bhaal than Myrkul. Bane and Bhaal sometimes share followers like scheming courtiers who want to seize power from their lord by assassination. The Lord of Bones and Bane do not interact much as, unless they worship all three, their followers do not overlap.
