Voaraghamanthar is a black dragon, whose scales glitter like the souls beyond the grave, and who makes the world shudder with every beat. During one fateful council meeting with the cult of the dragon, it was he who promised to raise them another flying castle, in exchange for a gift in return. All that he asked was that the cult of the dragon dedicate forces to searching the Mere of Dead Men for an artifact, and that once he had the artifact in his possession, that he would be able to raise the castle skywards.

Weeks later, it was also he who participated in The Fall of Elarindor , the Elvish capitol. During the siege, he destroyed many of the ancient trees that the elves called their homes, and melted the skin from their bones. Before disengaging from the fight, he encountered the dragonborn @X, and decided to toy with him and break his mind, but the dragonborn was too weak for his games, and so instead the Black Death decided to send him into a deep sleep and take him home with him. When he commanded his Yuan-ti mage to charm Xandoraxis, it also put the elven maid Elaine to sleep. When Voaraghamanthar saw this, he collected her as well, and flew away with the pair of them.

It is said that the Black Death makes his home deep within the Mere of Dead Men, but where exactly in the Mere, only the bones of his victims can say.
