Doru Donavich
Doru was the beloved son of Father Donavich, the village priest of Barovia. He was also the betrothed of Gertruda and childhood friend of Ireena. Inspired by the arrival of the renowned vampire hunter Dr. Rudolph van Richten, Doru became emboldened and incited a Barovian mob to march against Strahd.
This rebellion was met with swift and brutal retribution. Strahd, in his wrath, transformed Doru into a vampire spawn and sent him back to his father with orders to kill him. Father Donavich, unable to destroy his own son, managed to imprison Doru in the church's catacombs, where he remained for some time.
Recently, adventurers discovered Doru in the catacombs. Recognizing that he retained some semblance of his former self and was resisting his vampiric urges, they decided to spare him. They transported him to the village of Bastion, where he is currently confined in the first chamber of the Endless Paths. The party is now seeking a cure for his condition, exploring options such as defeating Strahd or confronting the Dark Power connected to the Amber Temple.
