Description: Alusair was a fierce warrior and skilled battlemaster, with oak-brown eyes and a growing number of wrinkles by 1371 DR. She despised court life and diplomacy, preferring the battlefield, where she proved her mettle against the Tuigan Horde and during the Goblin War. After Azoun IV’s death, she became Regent, ruling alongside Filfaeril until Azoun V came of age.
Influence: Alusair’s military prowess and blunt diplomacy made her a key figure in Azoun IV’s court, especially during wartime. Her leadership during the Tuigan campaign, where she commanded a retreat and regroup in the Forest of Lethyr, was pivotal. However, her disdain for court politics likely caused friction with nobles and Vangerdahast, who favored more subtle governance. The narrative’s focus on her martial skills might overshadow her struggles with the political aspects of her role, which she openly hated.
