Velveteen Specter

Throstulgrael (known commonly as Velvet) was a young black dragon who lived in the Flooded Forest for hundreds of years. He was known for enslaving Lizardfolk and turning them towards evil. Some years ago, the dragon met his end. His corpse has been used to construct The Shattered Dragon Inn in Ylraphon.

Unbeknownst to the merchants and tradesmen of Ylraphon, Throstulgrael's spirit continued to exert influence over the creatures of the Flooded Forest. His ghostly form was confined to his lair, around which he raised up a tribe of Kecuala to exert his will.

According to Velvet, he spent many years as the tyrannical ruler of a Kecuala army. He was at some point subjugated into the servitude of a lich. Adventurers came to confront the lich, killing Velvet. To the dragon's own surprise, he rose again as a dracolich. He escaped and flew away. In a blind rage, the wicked black dragon flew to nearby Ylraphon to revel in carnage. An elite trio of Chosen were able to put Velvet down in Ylraphon. Apparently, they had been there on orders from Silverymoon to protect the temple Moonwater. The extent of his destruction was greatly limited; his fallen skeleton was left in place and a new inn built there.
