The Eviter Royal Family (formerly)
Once the rulers of Trefles, the Eviter family is long-dead. They first rose to power in the riots known as the Death of Democracy, the forcible installation of a monarchy by a dissatisfied populace. The first ruler, Queen Unze, threw lavish parties in the palace, open to all her people.
Her family line descended to the last rulers, Queen Anmut and King Revahir (royal by marriage). Well-liked in the beginning of their reign, the family lost popularity when knowledge came to light that their son, Ebahir, had been born a tiefling. Many assumed this to mean that either the King or Queen had obtained power through dishonest, hellish means, and - with the added discontent of a failing economy - tipped the masses once again into riots. The Eviter family was killed, the treasury was looted, and Trefles Fortress fell into disrepair.
Stories remain, however, of strange shadows in the Fortress. Perhaps one of their spirits still lingers... but of course, the people of Trefles are also famously fond of ghost stories.
