Lukan tried the first test several more times, getting a little better each time. Still, it was several years before he managed to pass. He felt a bit weird about it, given Usi was most of the reason he passed. The ability to fly was quite useful for some of the harder parts of the test. But no one criticized him for it, and it was good to finally be moving on.
Temerity ruffled his hair when he came back over. "Congratulations," she said. "I knew you could do it."
Lukan smiled. "Only cause you never gave up on me. At this rate, I'll graduate in no time!"
"I'm sure you will." Temerity slung an arm around his shoulders and started heading inside. "Let's go get some food. I'm starving."
