The Sovereign Hand

The Sovereign Hand has been around longer than most of the nations of Eyrar. Founded during the Celestial Wars between The Sovereign Host and the Dark Six, the Hand was a group of nine powerful adventurers from all across Eyrar, gifted power by the Host themselves. 

Structure

Grand Marshall of the Hand - Rathkran Xaxxthroth

• Many outside the order would consider the Grand Marshall the leader, but the Hand does not consider any member above the other. Rathkran's largest responsibility is to be a tie-breaker vote among the members and to be a unifying face to the public. Every 10 years a vote is held for the title of Grand Marshall, but an emergency vote can be called if the Knights of the order believe the current Marshall is problematic or not fulfilling proper duties.

Knights of the Hand

• The Knights are the remaining members of the Hand. They are each fierce warriors in their own right, and are renowned as some of the strongest fighters in the land. They often appear when rumors of worship of the Dark Six circulate, and can be called upon in dire circumstances to cast out evil magic and dark forces.

Each hero was chosen based on a trait that fit one of their patron god. The Paladin Knights of the Hand played a pivotal role in protecting civilians during the Celestial War, and each delivered a piece of their soul to create the Bahamut Apparatus. Using this device, they were able to help Bahamut and the Host seal away the Dark Six and Tiamat into Avernus. Afterword, they imprisoned the Cult of Six in a magical prison in what is now Eastern Rhesos.
